With No Respect to Mr. Butker
Task 21, May 16 to May 23
I had a fun task lined up for this week.
Then I read a transcript of Butker’s speech at Benedictine College.
My mother Betty was an effing pistol. Her bailiwick wasn’t the kitchen, it was the classroom. She taught for 35 years and the state of Ohio was lucky to have her. She was stubborn and kept her own counsel, thank you very much. In 1960 she voted for John Kennedy. When she came home and told my dad, he screamed “you canceled my vote!”
My wife Valerie, besides being as hot as a firecracker, is a no-nonsense feminist, a great mother and compassionate psychotherapist. Do I always agree with her? No. Do I respect her? Absolutely.

My daughter Hayley is a tattooed, outspoken, funny-as-hell fashion industry executive–when she isn’t dee-jaying. You know that saying “lead, follow or get out of the way”? Hayley leads.
If Hayley or my wife had been at that college for Butker’s speech they would have raised a middle finger and walked out. If my mom had been there she would have walked on stage and slapped that silly beard off his face.
Task:
If you agree with me, reach out to the NFL, the Chiefs and Benedictine College and voice your displeasure. And be salty about it.
